I’ve talked to this guy on line and he is really nice.
You guys actually call each other “chap”
That's just too fucking charming for words.

Ye’, chap, mate, mukka, fella, geezer, fuckwit, idiot, git, marra, lad, prick, etc...
All terms of endearment to a friend.
Best bit @6:05-6:15.

You might be enough far north to help me answer this question. A few years ago, we met a bunch of drunk Scotsman in Las Vegas on a stag weekend. They were pretty pissed by the time we met them (after midnight), and booze was flowing around a lot.
They liked my wife and me because I was able to talk Formula 1 with them - one had a Ferrari hat on. So, we started drinking together until 4am, and they taught me to say something that describes something really good, but instead of saying “really good”, they would say something like “hurra good ” or “hudda good ” or “hutta good ” . I also can’ t remember if they said they were from Glasgow or Edinburgh, so there is a good chance it was very regional slang.
Does any of this make any sense, and do you have the slightest idea what they were saying? I never heard anything like that in “Still Game” and I watched a lot of it.
If anyone cares about the end of the story - around 4am the groom- to- be threw a dude over the bar - literally picked him up off his bar stool and chucked him across the bar on the floor. W e decided to make ourselves scarce after that.

I have AC in the office. However it’s likely I’ll be outside sorting some 80t of incoming steel, so that will be fun.

That was it! I just found it on urban dictionary as well, thank you!
I think I’ll rewatch all of “Still game” to remind myself of how awesome their accents are :)

I was joking a bit, but the only sunshine I saw in the course of a week in England a while back was briefly when passing through Leicestershire, so the Midlands having sun is the only sort of sun in England I can personally verify to actually exist.
It’s acceptable if not great
for heat in my part of
the
Appalachians today and the rest of the week
- 27C highs at worst.

Dialects and slang vary from region to region, city to city.
It can be a lot to learn.
